Text Box: Transition House’s internship training program provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in assessment and intervention with a diverse patient population. Goals include increasing awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural, social and psychological needs of individuals and learning while receiving direct supervision and training. Transition House provides supportive housing for homeless veteran and non-veteran adults. The intern program consists of administrative, behavior plans, client assessment, and treatment planning. In addition, interns will participate in each of the three following rotations: (1) Administration (2) Meetings (3) Assessment and Planning 

Internship duties include individual counseling, individual and group meetings and case management services on a regularly scheduled or as-needed basis. Convene as needed, meetings with clients and counselors to discuss participant progress and advocate services from appropriate agencies. Facilitate life skills workshops, provide crisis intervention services to clients. Conducts client referrals and performs corresponding follow-up.
